Many of today's original equipment as well as expensive aftermarket aluminium wheels come painted from the factory. These wheels are subject to the same type of damage as polished/clear-coated wheels. Dull wheels from constant exposure to chemicals can be re-painted back to factory finish. Scratched, chipped, burnt, or even deeply gouged wheels will look new. Perhaps you just need a new colour. The Wheel Fix can even do the latest blue, red, yellow or whatever colour tints to produce that anodized look that is just now becoming popular. Older corroded wheels can be refinished to look new as well as be corrosion resistant for many years.

OVER TOP OR FACE JOB
Wheels that have light scratching, minor curb abrasion, dulling, etc. or require a colour change can be painted over top of existing factory finishes, providing there is NO corrosion forming anywhere on the wheel. The wheel is first chemically de-contaminated, usually with high pressure to eliminate all road film, silicone, wax, etc. Next, damage on the wheel may be straightened, machined, or removed by hand depending on the level of damage done. If necessary it will be spot-primed. Great care is taken in preparing the wheel for final painting to insure the final product is as factory. Adhesion promoters are used to aid in adhesion between existing paint and new topcoats. Colour coats are then applied followed by more than ample amounts of quality clear coats.

COMPLETE JOB
Usually wheels require complete refinishing due to corrosion, or because of too much or poor quality paints on the wheel. Just as in all other jobs we start with chemical de-contamination. Our next step is to chemically strip existing paints from the wheel. Chemical stripping is followed by high pressure washing and finally sandblasting to remove 100% of all existing paints and contamination. Usually epoxy primer is used over recently sandblasted bare aluminium for corrosion resistance. If the wheel is to be smooth in texture, 2 part urethane primer is used to build with meticulous sanding between coats. Colour coats followed by multiple coats of quality clear is applied to the entire wheel front to back.
